JOHOR BAHRU – The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar accorded thanks to Rokiah Senin for her chicken rendang gift to His Majesty for the breaking of fast.
Rokiah and her family are among the victim of the storm which hit Tanjung Sedili, Kota Tinggi last July, causing her house at Kampung Sentosa to be badly damaged.
“I would like to thank Mak Cik Rokiah for sending the food. I truly appreciate her sincerity and Alhamdullilah, the food was tastes good.
“Do not feel indebted by me. Thank the state government which cares for the people. I always help my people who are in need. Insya-Allah (God willing), if I have the chance, I will stop by and dine at Mak Cik Rokiah’s house,” the Sultan decreed in a statement issued by the Royal Press Office (RPO) today.
Earlier, the family, along with 13 other families received the full sponsorship from the Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor (YSIJ) foundation to repair their houses.
Meanwhile, Rokiah said, her family and her are very grateful for the gift and help from YSIJ which would make their Aidilfitri merrier.
“I am very grateful. Although we were hit by the disaster, the gift and assistance given by His Majesty Sultan brought light into our lives again.
“His Majesty visited our house during the disaster. I was very embarrassed because I couldn’t even serve His Majesty with drinks. Therefore, I send this food as my appreciation and gratefulness for the help extended to my family and I,” she said. -MalaysiaGazette
