KUALA LUMPUR – There is no guarantee that any political leader or Cabinet Minister would be chosen as the candidate of UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 15th General Election (GE15).
The Selangor UMNO Chairman, Tan Sri Noh Omar said that although certain senior minister often go to the ground at certain area, there should not be any issue on the division of electoral seats as the matter has not been finalised.
“To contest or not, nothing is certain. We have not finish dividing the seats. As a minister, as the people of Selangor, what’s wrong with him going to the ground?
“I need more Ministers to help me defend the fate of the people in Selangor. So, there is nothing certain about who will become candidate.
“I don’t even know if I will become a candidate or not. So, why the fuss about who is becoming candidate? Let the top leadership determine it when the time comes. Now is the time to work, not to lobby as candidate and such,” he said today.
Earlier, the Kuala Selangor UMNO Division issued an order to the party leaders of that area to not be involved in the programmes conducted by Finance Minister, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.
The Kuala Selangor UMNO Division Leader, Datuk Jahaya Ibrahim said that he issued the order.
A letter of his letter went viral in WhatsApp, telling the division leaders not to get involved with any programmes involving Zafrul. -MalaysiaGazette
