MalaysiaGazette was told that Rayer is in a stable condition although he was rather shocked by the accident.
The collision involved the Rayer’s Toyota Alphard and a Ford Kuga sports utility vehicle (SUV). The DAP MP was rushed to the Sungai Buloh Hospital after the accident.
Six individuals including Rayer were on their way from Penang to Kuala Lumpur to attend a peaceful demonstration by a group of lawyers at Padang Merbok this morning.
The Hulu Selangor District Police Chief, Superintendent Arsad Kamaruddin said, the incident happened after a Ford Kuda stopped at the right lane after it was blocked by a huge object.
While the Ford Kuga was trying to change its route to the middle lane, the Toyota Alphard which was trying to avoid that object hit the SUV as it switched route.
“That Toyota Alphard also tried to switch to the middle lane and hit Ford Kuga from the back,” he said.
Based on the pictures circulated in the social media, Rayer’s car was damaged in the front and side. Besides that, its windscreen was also badly damaged.
